Terms of use
Effective August 6, 2026. These terms govern use of Fellow Residents. Please read them before creating an account or using the Service.
You may use Fellow Residents only for lawful, personal, and building-community purposes. Provide accurate account and residence information, keep your credentials confidential, and use only your own account. You must not impersonate another person, provide false residency information, make a false resident vouch, scrape the Service, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with its operation, harass others, post unlawful or infringing material, or use the Service for emergencies.
Community content
You are responsible for your posts, messages, comments, attachments, and other content. You grant Fellow Residents the limited right to host, display, reproduce, and process that content solely to operate, secure, improve, and provide the Service. We may remove or restrict content or accounts that violate these terms or create a safety, privacy, residency, or legal risk.
Moderation and access
We may suspend or revoke access when we reasonably believe an account is unauthorized for a community, violates these terms, or creates a safety, privacy, or legal risk. When access is revoked, we may remove, restrict, anonymize, or retain related content and records as reasonably necessary to protect the community, investigate misuse, resolve disputes, comply with law, and operate the Service. An administrator may preserve a post with substantial community discussion while removing related comments or other content that creates a risk.
Accuracy
Community information, community details, scores, and user contributions may be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate. Do not rely on the Service as an emergency channel, legal notice, safety inspection, or official property record. Verify important information directly with the appropriate person or authority.
Our content
The Service’s software, design, branding, text, and other materials are owned by Fellow Residents or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These terms do not give you permission to copy, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit them except as the Service expressly allows.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that user-submitted information, including community or address information, is accurate, complete, or current. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fellow Residents is not liable for losses arising from inaccurate user information, user content, interruptions, or use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.
Fellow Residents discloses personal information to law enforcement or another requesting party only when legally required by a valid law-enforcement request or other lawful order, subject to the applicable legal process.
We may change, suspend, or end features or access when reasonably necessary to operate the Service, protect users, comply with law, or enforce these terms. We may update these terms by posting a revised version with a new effective date; continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
Except where applicable law requires otherwise, these terms and disputes related to them are governed by District of Columbia law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts located in the District of Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction.
